Welcome:

Self-Governance Communication & Education Tribal Consortium (SGCETC), in coordination with Indian Health Service (IHS) and Department of the Interior (DOI) will host the 2019 Tribal Self-Governance Consultation Conference March 31- April 4 at the Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City, Michigan. The mission of this conference is to provide a forum for Tribal leaders and officials to: (1) share best practices for implementing Self-Governance and administrating programs and services to Tribal citizens, (2) stay informed about current issues and learn about updates from Federal agencies, and (3) to learn about the mechanics of Self-Governance and other opportunities for Tribal Nations to pursue their goals of self-government.  Thank you for your continued support of Self-Governance and we hope to see you in Michigan!

Rising in the midst of northern Michigan’s freshwater bounty, winding wooded trails, and sugar-sand beaches, you’ll find Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. Hotel rooms feature free Wi-Fi, iPod docks and flat-screens, plus coffeemakers and mini fridges. Condos add dining areas, kitchenettes and patios or balconies. Amenities include 3 championship golf courses, a 100,000-sq-ft fitness center with tennis courts, a private beach club and an indoor water park. Students for Self-Governance/ Silent Auction:

SGCE is excited to announce a new initiative, Students for Self-Governance. Through this initiative, SGCE will provide funds for college students interested in Tribal Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, or other Health related fields to attend the 2020 Tribal Self-Governance Conference. We are incorporating a silent auction into the 2019 Tribal Self-Governance Conference in order to fund this initiative.
