The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Division of Human Services will be hosting a series of webinars to provide Tribes information about how to complete the 2016 Financial Assistance and Social Services Report (FASSR). Each webinar will cover the same content, so Tribes only need to attend one session.
The 2016 FASSR is the only report BIA Agencies and Tribes operating under Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (ISDEAA) Title I Contracts, ISDEAA Self-Governance Funding Agreements and Public Law (Pub. L.) 102-477 (477) Plans will be required to submit for the Welfare Assistance Program in FY 2017. The term tribe is inclusive of tribal consortia. Tribes and BIA Agencies must submit the 2016 FASSR in order to receive a final distribution of 2017 Welfare Assistance Funds. The webinar will focus specifically on how to complete the 2016 FASSR in alignment with the Welfare Assistance Funding Distribution Methodology. Participants should walk away with an understanding on how to complete the Data Section of the Report including how to properly count Actual Persons Served per Program Component, Report Expenditures, and complete the Narrative Section of the Report.
