In 2017, SGCETC requested that requesting that Transportation Secretary Chao fill the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Tribal Government Affairs in the Office of the Secretary in order to continue the important work that will support Tribal transit, economic, and infrastructure development for Tribal Nations.

In 2016, SGCETC sent a letter of support to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s efforts to stop the construction of DAPL.

In 2016, SGCETC submitted testimony to the United States House Committee on Natural Resources Subcommittee on Indian, Insular, and Alaska Native Affairs for the record on the “HEALTTH Act.”

In 2017, SGCETC submitted testimony to the House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment and Related Agencies regarding the 2018 BIA and IHS appropriations.
