Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: FDA Authorizes Additional Vaccine Dose for Certain Immunocompromised Individuals Other fully vaccinated individuals do not need an additional vaccine dose right now

On August 12, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published an announcement amending the emergency use authorizations (EUAs) for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine and the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine to allow for an additional vaccine dose to certain moderately to severely immunocompromised individuals. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Services (CDC) recommends that certain immunocompromised individuals receive an additional dose of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine at least 28 days after the second dose.
