SGCETC Kicks Off Filming for Tribal Self-Governance Documentary

SGCETC is excited to work with Emmy-award winning filmmaker Kyle Bell, citizen of the Thlopthlocco Tribal Town, to develop a Tribal Self-Governance documentary that will highlight (1) the history of Tribal Self-Governance, (2) the successes of Tribal nations across the country, (3) the importance of Tribal control and decision-making authority, and (4) the future of Self-Governance.

SGCETC kicked off filming for the documentary on June 24 with a visit to the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Many thanks to Chief Gary Batton and the numerous Choctaw staff that helped make the visit a success.

If your Nation is interested in participating in or sponsoring the documentary, please contact Jay Spaan at
